José Luis Bru: “We unequivocally filter the presence of a single person at the time of identification”
Vulkan Systems traveled to Valencia to present its brand-new access control system for Gaming Halls, Casinos, and Bingos at the Expojoc Congress. The system incorporates biometric technology for both fingerprint and facial recognition which, as VULKAN CEO José Luis Bru stated, “is even more powerful than our previous version, and we expect it to be fully certified by the end of this month.”.
Bru further indicated that the presentation of their access control is working perfectly at this Expo Congress: “The people who have shown interest in our access control are impressed by the tests we conduct right here. These tests focus on potential intrusions; we aim to demonstrate that the person who identifies themselves is the person who gains entry, ensuring, for example, that I cannot identify myself and have another person walk in.” In this way, physical barriers are eliminated in this access control system because, in José Luis Bru’s opinion,“they obstruct the public more and are not ideal for premises access”.
Regarding technical features, José Luis Bru Giménez, CSO and Commercial Director of the company, pointed out at the control unit itself that “this system has solid electronic components and is accompanied by several cameras capable, through a computer algorithm and digital image processing, of unequivocally filtering the presence of a single person at the time of identification and ensuring, at any moment and instantaneously, whether that person's identification should be validated or not. If a person enters the premises and identifies themselves correctly, there is no problem; but if a person tries to hide behind another, if they pass through at the same time, or if they attempt to obscure any component of the system, it will detect it and invalidate the access with an audible alarm. The exact moment of access is recorded in a loop so the manager can see what happened, with the video being sent directly to the smartwatch on their wrist”.
Finally, José Luis Bru Giménez stated that there are currently several open projects at Vulkan: “Products related to servers, online facial integration services, and other identification projects with various companies”.
